"Desert X is produced by Desert Biennial to bring the finest international artists to the Coachella Valley to create art, engage viewers, and focus attention on the valley's environment, its natural wonders as well as socio-political-economic issues that make it vibrant, curious and exciting."
Coachella Music and Arts Festival marks the official start of "festival season." The annual dance in the desert kicks off the next six months of musical pilgrimages across the country and around the world. With it, comes the introduction of cut off denim, kimonos, swimwear, and (more) bohemian wares into our wardrobe.
This year, we decided to get into the spirit by dressing in our favorite festival fashion while visiting the Desert X exhibition. Spanning Indio, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, the Salton Sea, and the Coachella Valley at large, Desert X aimed to draw travelers outside of their usual straight shot to the Empire Polo Fields. Instead of merely passing through, it was erected to have festival goers, desert lovers, and art aficionados to explore this magical desert a little more.
So, come explore Coachella Valley with us, all while getting a little sartorial inspiration for your next festival.
